Haven: A Stranger Magic: by D.C. Akers book review!

I got the chance to review a book called HAVEN: A Stranger Magic. It's the first Novella in the HAVEN series by author D.C. Akers.

THE HAVEN SERIES: Known as a place of refuge, Haven is a sanctuary for those with supernatural abilities. Decades of peace between the Witches, Vampires, Goblins, Elves, and Orcs is coming to an end. Now the once tranquil world is shrouded in deception and corruption. Dark secrets tear at the very fabric of their alliance giving way to an evil that stirs in the shadows. Exhilarating and utterly gripping, the HAVEN series is an action-packed journey full of suspense, magic, mystery, and intrigue.

ABOUT THIS BOOK: Sam Dalcome thinks he is so completely average that no one ever notices him. Until he discovers a mysterious stranger outside his home. Bewildered, he tries to uncover the stranger’s intentions. But Sam is sidetracked when he and his friend Travis discover a secret passageway deep in the town’s quarry that leads to a hidden cavern. What they uncover next will not only change their lives forever, but will uncover the first clue to a deadly Dalcome family secret. Sam finds himself drawn into a world of mystery and magic he never knew existed, which brings him closer to a destiny he never knew was possible.

WHAT I THOUGHT: This book is definitely a thriller! It has fast paced, thrilling scenes in it that keep you turning the pages. So many questions came up when I was reading this book. The author REALLY builds everything up. Of course, most of my questions were not answered because this is a series book. I guess I will just have to continue reading the series! I do wish that this book was longer though. It's only 172 pages. I finished it in a little over an hour but at least there are more books to read. It ends pretty quickly but Sam got into an adventure just before the book ended. It just made me want to read the next book even more! I highly recommend this book! You can get it for only $.99 on Amazon!

You can find D.C Akers on Facebook. Go like his page to get his updates on his books!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Lincoln is seven months old!

Birth: 10 pounds 4.5 ounces and 21 1/2 inches
1 month: 13 pounds and 22 inches
2 months old: 16 pounds 8 ounces and 23 inches
3 months old: 18 pounds and 24 1/2 inches
4 months old: 19 pounds 4 ounces and 26 inches
5 months old: 20 pounds and 26 1/2 inches
6 months old: 21 pounds 12 ounces and 27 inches
7 months old: 22 pounds and 29 inches

This month Lincoln:
He is the happiest baby ever. He is extremely ticklish. He giggles up a storm, especially if you hide and say "boo!" He gets so excited when he sees people he knows. He gives open mouth, tongue filled kisses. He LOVES standing while you hold his hands. Some times he will not sit when you try to put him on the floor. He gets up on his hands and knees. He lunges forwards, rocks back and forth, rolls or pulls himself along the ground to go get stuff he wants. He's close to crawling. He wants to touch and grab EVERYTHING.

Milestones:
He has two fully grown teeth (bottom center). He can sit up from a laying down position, which is amazing to me. He either just comes straight up or he uses his arms to glide him into sitting. He also leans forward from sitting, gets on all fours, picks up a toy, and sits back down. He has amazing control.

Clothing:
He wears 12 month and up clothes, very few 9 month old pants. He wears most 12-24 month old comfortably.

Eating:
He eats baby food a couple times a day. He usually finishes half the container. He mostly likes fruit, like his brother did. He eats the Gerber puffs and a few other baby snacks/Cheerios. He also seems to really like bread like toast, soft pizza crust, etc.

Sleeping:
He goes to sleep around 10pm, wakes up around 9am, and still sleeps through the night. He puts himself to sleep in bed. He usually naps twice, noon-ish and often a late nap around 5pm. Naps are harder. He won't go to sleep by himself in the crib normally. He has to be fed, rocked, cuddled, etc.

He screams some times because he can't crawl. Haha. He will get it soon enough.

He's such a sweet little baby and it's amazing watching him grow!

(Compare this update to his past updates and Brayden's updates.)
