Clever Relish: WipesWraps / Baby Wipes Covers review!

As any parent can attest, what item, next to the baby and the diapers themselves, do you touch in those first few years MORE than the baby wipes tub?  They're stashed all over the house for at least a couple of years. The unsightly (usually teal-colored) plastic baby wipes tub are not the most lovely accent item! Thus were born WipesWraps Baby Wipes Covers by the company Clever Relish

About: CleverRelish was founded in by Jill Carreiro, an engineer, salesperson, lifelong tinkerer and thankful momma to three little ones ranging from 3 to 7 years old (and another on the way!)  That's nearly SIX straight years of diaper changing!  Six years of looking at the same ugly plastic baby wipes tub at every diaper change. Then one day she had an "aha" moment: Why don't we just make it a part of the decor! As a busy wife, mother, and businesswoman, Jill's cool idea was put aside for a bit. She worked hard, moving up the corporate ladder and leading teams of great people. During the process of making her aha moment a reality she became determined to empower others with cool ideas to live their dreams. Thus CleverRelishTM was founded and the launch of WipesWrapsTM swiftly followed.

So what is it? This is the world's first stretchable cloth cover to turn unsightly baby wipes tubs into the perfect accessory for any room or space. They are available in fun and fashionable prints for the nursery, living space, and bathroom. Many moms and dads go to great lengths to make there babies spaces the most beautiful and serene space they can. WipesWraps are a stylish, flexible, and fun solution to the challenge of hiding those baby wipes. Banish the unsightly tub!

What we thought: I love this product idea. It did fit my tub a little funny though. It was hard to close. They suggest leaving the tub upside down overnight and that did seem to help. I used a Huggies tub and it suggests Pampers so that may have something to do with it.

They have many designs I LOVE on their site such as Dotty Blue, Lagoon Stripes and Blues and Browns. They sent me Rosie Posie (below). I really didn't like the design. It was too busy. It didn't fit in really to my house and I have boys so I don't think it would look right in their rooms. I think this design would fit better in a baby girl's room or a feminine bathroom.

I like this product and think it would be perfect for a baby shower gift!

(I would have included a personal photo if it but Brayden misplaced the cover and I can't seem to find it. :( )

ONE STEP AT A TIME - Hugo the Happy Starfish - Children's E-book Review!

This is my third Hugo the Happy Starfish review! I am in love with these books by Suzy Liebermann. This is the first time I got an e-book. This one is for the book "One step at a time".

About this book: Hugo is a little starfish with a big sense of adventure. One day he finds an empty candy wrapper with a picture of a huge chocolate mountain. Usually when Hugo finds trash in the ocean it upsets him but this time what he found made him curious. Hugo discovers that his chocolate mountain is in fact a real mountain, which is called the Matterhorn and is located in Switzerland.

He decides to set off on a journey to find this mountain – a huge challenge for a little starfish! Hugo learns to take one step at a time and to enjoy the journey as much as the destination. In this story Hugo finds the secret of perseverance when the road gets difficult.

ONE STEP AT A TIME is a story about the need for perspective, whatever mountains we face. This book is the perfect way to teach kids to divide big challenges into little chunks and to take things one step at a time. This book is a great way to teach commitment.

What we thought: Just as expected this book is great! I LOVE the lessons that these books teach. I love the colors, animations and even the language. Through his adventures, Hugo learns many valuable lessons of character, life skills, and ecological alertness – all amid the backdrop of a magical underwater world and mystical islands. They are among my favorite books in Brayden's book collection. The key theme behind these books is that building character based on a positive attitude leads to a happy, self-confident and successful human being. I love how they teach children about their feelings.

They are still a little above Brayden's age range but I am certain that he understands the lessons of these books. I will continue getting Hugo books for Brayden. I know this will be in our library for many years to come. You should ABSOLUTELY get these for your children!

Lincoln is ten months old! (Late :/)

Birth: 10 pounds 4.5 ounces and 21 1/2 inches
1 month: 13 pounds and 22 inches
2 months old: 16 pounds 8 ounces and 23 inches
3 months old: 18 pounds and 24 1/2 inches
4 months old: 19 pounds 4 ounces and 26 inches
5 months old: 20 pounds and 26 1/2 inches
6 months old: 21 pounds 12 ounces and 27 inches
7 months old: 22 pounds and 28 1/4 inches
8 months old: 22 pounds 2 ounces and 29 inches
9 months old: 23 pounds and 29 1/2 inches
10 months old: 23 pounds 2 ounces and 30 inches

AH! Double digit age! He's growing up so fast. :(

This month Lincoln: He has been an absolute busy body and a little bit of a pain the butt. ;) He will SWEEP a table (coffee/end table) of everything on it, even drinks. If you hold him in a store he will grab and pull things off the shelves. He broke a coffee cup in Goodwill. Ugh, this kid. He is so curious. I'm not going to lie, it's starting to get insanely hard to take photos of him. He moves way too much. It's so hard to be mad at him because he's SUCH a happy kid. HAHA. He is needy in the sense that he follows me to every room.

Milestones: He has stood for a few seconds by himself when letting go of the couch, toys, etc. He even takes steps to lunge to something. He can climb up stairs and has even climbed up onto our bed (which is on the floor). He got his first haircut! He also claps. He claps when he accomplishes something or when someone else claps.

Eating: He still eats anything and everything. This month eat started liking yogurt. In the past I bought him some baby yogurt and he hated it. This month he has been gobbling down my Greek yogurt and Yoplait whipped yogurts. He attacks people while they are eating for their food. He was eating my oatmeal (even though he hated baby oatmeal a while back) and all the berries in Rj's Captain Crunch cereal at the same time. Haha. He was going back and forth between us. This was a little while after he had dinner and a snack. I absolutely love his appetite. Maybe I won't when he's a teen though. Haha.

Clothing: He has officially grown out of most things 12 months and younger. He's filling out 18-24 month close nicely.

Verbal: He has said "mama" "dada" and other like sounds for a while now. They aren't directed towards us so, I don't count them so much as words, ya know? Well, now he says "hi" and waves at you when you say hi to him. He also says "bye bye" and waves when you say bye.

Education Toys Planet: ABCs flash cards review!

Brayden loves learning and always has. We recently received Alphabet Flash Cards from Educational Toys Planet. Educational Toys Planet is exactly what it sounds like. It's a web store with a HUGE amount of educational toys for all ages with MANY brands. They have gift cards and you can also make a gift registry and a wish list! I love that! They also have free shipping over $75. Perfect place to get birthday presents, holiday gifts and much more!

About these cards: Involve your child in the joy of learning the ABC. School Zone Alphabet Flash Cards bring skills such as memory, listening, and movement into each fun-filled lesson. Children will get to know phonics and be able to connect letter sounds with objects: K is for Kite, for example. They will also learn that each letter is a symbol that can be memorized. Offer this colorful world of letters to your child today.

Videos of Brayden and his cards from our Instagram:

What we thought: He was being stubborn and wasn't naming all the letters and things that he knows on camera. Silly kid. I was hoping that these cards would challenge him a little more but he knew every letter and knew almost all of the pictures. He's a smarty pants. I will definitely be keeping these around for Lincoln to use though when he gets older. I love the colors and photos on the cards. They really stand out and make easy for the kids to pay attentions to them.

I highly recommend these ABC cards and Educational Toys Planet. You can find these cards located in their toys for 3 year olds (4-5 also). They have SO many toys listed in there that I want for Brayden and even Lincoln!

You can find them on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and Pinterest!

Wordless (ish) Wednesday: My boys at the beach

We went to Jacksonville Beach a couple weeks ago and we're going back tomorrow. Yay, beach days!

I was trying to get his trunks on him. LOL.
